What customers say?

“ Hong Kong desserts with controlled sugar. We ate ginger steam egg, beancurd ginkgo barley, walnut sesame tang yuan. good quality and very pleasant helpful employees. We will revisit. Thank you ”

“ Cosy little desserts stall with reminders of 80s90s HK. Traditional desserts are good so going with sesame, peanut and walnut will not be disappointed. The sago is pretty average though. ”

“ Very nice canto style desserts. Would recommend the gui ling gao to sooth heaty-ness, it tasted rich in herbs, not sweet thankfully but also not overly bitter as well. The milk pudding is also very flavorful for those with a sweet tooth. The sesame and almond paste is gao and tasty too, it has just an adequate amount of sweetness (just a touch not too much) to bring out the flavor without giving a sugar rush crash. ”

“ Came by for desserts after dinner, no queue at 7+pm on a weekend, good selection of desserts including sesame paste and my new found favourite of ginger soup. The ginger soup was the star — spicy enough to warm you up but not overly sweet, just the right balance. The sesame paste was smooth and rich, really comforting. The only downside were the tangyuan — the dough was quite thick, which made them a bit chewy and less enjoyable. Prices were fair for Chinatown, averaging around $4-5 per bowl, which felt reasonable for the quality and portion size. Great spot to satisfy your dessert cravings after a meal! ”

“ There is a good variety of hot and cold desserts. Have been here on quite a few occasions and managed to try some of hot and cold desserts. Generally, it suits my taste buds as the desserts are not overly sweet. Though serving bowls are small and you might think that it feels expensive with that price, it really isn't. In the small bowl, it is actually pretty packed with all the ingredients and cooked just right. This is especially so for the sesame paste, it is essentially the real thing and not thickened by using corn starch to give a gooey texture. It is a small shop, thus only a few tables are available for seating. Good and not-overly-sweet desserts are hard to come by. This is the main reason why I will always drop by here for a sweet treat whenever I'm in the vicinity. ”

“ Old school Hong Kong dessert shop in Chinatown. The black sesame & almond paste is good! Not too sweet and thick and nice. Will definitely come back again to try other desserts like the orh ni (yam paste) with ginko nuts and mango with pomelo. ”

“ Great traditional dessert shop, they have both teas and hot/cold desserts. I like the chrysanthemum tea though it’s bottled but smells herbal and not sweet. Desserts are all flavorful. Service is fast, they have plenty of seats but it can get crowded/ hot during daytime. Will come back to try more . ”

“ A small and cosy place to have HK style desserts. I personally recommend their Almond/Black Sesame paste and their Milk Tea with Guilin Gao Cubes which is so special. However, I find a bowl of dessert at $4.50 is rather pricey. ”
